5 Things to Know Before Your First Kayak Eco-Tour
Laura — W.H. Peters Outdoor · June 5, 2026
Heading out on your first guided kayak eco-tour? You're in for a treat. Here's how to make the most of it.
1. No experience required
Every tour begins with a short paddling lesson from an ACA-certified instructor. If you can sit in a kayak, you can join us.
2. Dress to get a little wet
Quick-dry clothing and water shoes are ideal. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and a change of clothes.
3. We provide the gear
Kayak, paddle, and a Coast Guard–approved life jacket are all included.
4. Go at your own pace
Our small groups (max 8) move slowly, with plenty of stops to watch wildlife.
5. Bring your curiosity
The Eastern Shore's marshes and cypress swamps are alive with herons, eagles, otters, and more. Ask questions — your guide loves to share.
