Why paddle Ayers Creek and Newport Bay?
We launch near the mouth of Ayers Creek and head out into the salt marsh adjacent to Newport Bay. My guided eco tours will take you through a serene maze of tidal creeks offering a stunning, crowd free alternative to kayaking Assateague Island National Seashore.
As we explore the largest continuous salt marsh in Worcester County, keep your eyes open for the incredible local wildlife:
- Bald Eagles & Shorebirds: Spot majestic birds nesting along the creek banks.
- Native Wildlife: Watch for otters, deer and the Diamondback Terrapin (Maryland’s official state reptile and famous mascot of the University of MD)!
- A Protected Ecosystem: See firsthand the conservation efforts by the State and the Newport Bay Partnership to protect the health and ecological diversity of the Coastal Bays.
